It has come to my attention...

If you have a Comcast e-mail address you probably are not receiving any e-mails from me when I use my CTMH e-mail address. This includes EZ-Invite and e-mails I personally send. Apparently this has been happening for quite some time and I have noticed that I don't receive anything from Close to My Heart on my own Comcast account. This seems to be a Comcast problem, not Close to My Heart. This began several months ago but I only just realized it when other consultants began speaking of it.

So, if you have an alternate e-mail account, such as gmail or hotmail, please send that address to my CTMH e-mail, jenhallenbeck@myctmh.com, so I can use it from now on.

I have recently sent flyers for specials such as Stampaganza and Workshops on the Go. You can find information about these on my web site. I value you not only as a customer but as a friend and want to keep you in the loop when it comes to the many exciting things happening with Close to My Heart.

Thanks

Online Craft Club Project #3

There's still a couple of days to complete Project # 2. E-mail me a picture of your completed project by August 31.

9-11 has been on my mind a lot these past few days as we draw closer to the anniversary of that event. I'm sure most of us will never forget where we were that day. I was at work and remember the shock of my co-workers as news began to come into the warehouse. I remember just praying constantly as I went about that day. At break time everyone hovered around radios to get the latest news. No one said much. There were many tears and those of us who trust in the Lord did our best to encourage those around us who didn't have that hope.

For this month's project, use 9-11 as your starting point. Create a scrapbook page or other project to show where you were, your thoughts, feelings, anything that sticks out in your mind about 9-11. This project is pretty open ended. Maybe you'll decide to show your love for your country and your God, or perhaps a particular song touched you about that day. Or you might decide to depict the events as you remember them. Whatever you decide, please remember to use at least 50% Close to My Heart products in your project.

Mine is still a work in progress. When it is finished I will post it so you have an example to go by. You have until September 30 to e-mail me a picture of your completed project.

Online Craft Club Project #2

My Creations Cube
This cube makes a great gift for any occasion or make it for yourself. Mine showcases our family.

One of the things I love about the My Creations Cube is it's versatility. You can close up all the sides and have a cube that will sit there and be a showcase for those favorite photos, you can leave the top so it will open and have a gift box or a box for treasures from your family vacation, or even cut the cube apart and create a wall hanging.

You have until August 31 to complete this challenge. E-mail me (jenhallenbeck@myctmh.com) a picture of your completed project by this date and you will be entered to win a fabulous prize. The winning entry will be posted on my blog.
A couple of tips:
Liquid Glass works the best to adhere the edges of each side together. Run a small bead down the side then fold it together and hold for a few seconds.
I used a sponge to distress the edges of my cube with chocolate distressing ink.
And I used Embroidery Floss on the corners to give the appearance of the cube being tied together.

I can't wait to see your creations. Happy Scrappin'!

Online Craft Club - Project #1

My Creations Acrylic Mini Album

You have until June 30 to complete your album. I have provided a list of materials on my Close to My Heart web site. in the calendar section. Please use at least 50% Close to My Heart products, including the My Creations Acrylic Mini Album. I have found that Liquid Glass is the best adhesive to use on these albums since it dries clear. When you have completed your album, e-mail me that it is finished. If you use photobucket, upload it to your gallery and send me the link. You can also e-mail a picture of your album but PLEASE resize it since I am on dial-up. The deadline is June 30.

All who complete this project will have a chance to win a fabulous prize.

When you recieve your Acrylic Album, remove the protective film from the front and back of each page. I did this as I went.

Starting with the back page, I cut a 6x6 square peice of B&T and a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 photo. For each of the other pages, my B&T and photo get 1/2 inch smaller each time. So the 2nd to last page is 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 B&T and 5x5 photo, with the front page (under the cover) being 4x4 B&T and 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 photo.

I distressed the edges of my B&T papers and my photos with Cholcolate DistressingInk. I used the black and white rub-ons from each of the packs, and the quotes I found by searching online.

To attach the paper and photos I used Liquid Glass. Run a bead of Liquid Glass around the edge of paper, smooth out with your finger and attach to the top side of page. Do the same with photo, attaching to the top of the B&T. Add rub-ons as desired and you have a very cute mini Acrylic Album to give as a gift or keep for yourself!

For a list of Materials click here and you will be taken to My CTMH site.

(Sorry the Picture of Becca's page is sideways! For some reason Blogger turned it when I uploaded it)
